Who hasn’t had a recent concern about getting around town? If you were lucky, you had a fun chat about new trails, streets, or shortcuts. If you were less lucky, you shared your story about sitting in traffic on Route 59 or waiting for trains on Lockport Street. No matter how you feel about transportation and mobility in Plainfield, we want to hear from you!
Since the last Plainfield Master Transportation Plan was approved, in 2013, the Village has been following its guidance to improve our transportation infrastructure. We have witnessed a variety of accomplishments: new streets connected, new multi-use paths extended, new stoplights installed, improved street intersections, etc. Meanwhile, the Village has undergone incremental population growth and continued development.
Because many of the recommendations in the existing plan have already been successfully accomplished, it is time to re-engage the community in developing a new Plainfield Transportation and Mobility Plan using the freshest data and information to guide the Village through its next decade of development.
This summer, you will be able to join us at various community events to share your ideas, concerns, and suggestions about getting around Plainfield. In addition, virtual participation is also available by visiting our online comment map and taking a few minutes to complete the surveys!
Public surveys are available!
We want to make sure that we hear your views and understand your needs on transportation. Please come back to this website to follow the project’s progress. Keep forgetting the website address? Please enter your email address below to subscribe to our news updates!
We look forward to hearing your ideas and working together to make them happen!
